Update Your Profile Notifications

Notification Preferences allow you to select how and when you want to be notified when various events occur within a course. When you update your notification settings, these changes apply to all of your courses. You can choose how often they want to receive Canvas notifications.

Communication Channels

First, set the ways you want to be notified. Canvas supports notification through email, SMS text message, and Twitter. You account already has your school email address as a communication channel.

If you want to receive notifications as text messages on your phone, click Account and then Settings (left hand menu). Then click the + contact Method on the right. You will still receive emails to your MCC email account.

Set Your Notifications

Under Account, click Notifications. You can hover your mouse over a course activity item to see a description of that notification. Hover over the notification type you want to change and choose immediate, daily, weekly, none.
