Module 3

We serve a diverse population of students, many with differing needs and goals.

Designing an online class for such a diverse group is a lot like building a skyscraper: it requires a well developed plan, a solid foundation, and many layers of integrated, yet distinct, learning experiences, all developed with human diversity in mind!

Such a complex task requires some careful consideration of design, and planning! This week you will create a blueprint for success by building a solid foundation of support for your students.

By the end of this week, you will be able to:

Reflect on challenges your students might face in your online course
Discuss equity issues in California Community Colleges
Identify needs for technology support and share technology resources with your students
Evaluate using readiness tutorials to support student success
Identify your own local support for online teaching
